Mr. Robert V. came to Ayers following a pacemaker revision surgery. His stay was complicated by Pneumonia and CHF exacerbation; however, he was able to attain nearly all his goals. Prior to hospitalization, Mr. V. was independent in all activities of daily living, ambulated with a cane, and lived at home with his wife.
Upon arrival at Ayers, Mr. V. was very short of breath, fatigued easily, and required oxygen support. He participated in both physical and occupational therapy during his stay. At the time of discharge, Mr. V. had met nearly all his goals. He was independent in his self-care tasks, able to ambulate over 300 feet with his personal quad cane, and no longer required oxygen. Mr. V. was able to successfully return to his home with his wife and praised the care he received while at Ayers.
